Website Optimizer: Creating Groups
A Group is a set of Elements that are being optimized. For example, the Elements of a Sales Page.
Creating a Group is as simple as entering a name for the Group and pressing the Submit button.
The Group Admin page:

After creating a new Group, it appears in the list of Current Groups.
A Tracking ID may optionally be applied. This is used to identify the source of a visit (page hit). It is useful for tracking PPC campaigns where the ID is included in the destination URL in the form: site.com?id=value
The rotating arrow icon, when checked, causes the different versions of Elements to change on each page visit by the same visitor. Sometimes you want the same visitor to see the same version of the page and in other cases you want them to see a different version. For example, if you are testing a price, you should probably show the same price each time to a particular visitor. But if you are testing banners, you may want to rotate them as the visitor surfs your site.
The Wrench Icon, when checked, allows you to test your site. Page Hits and Conversions by you (the Admin) will be recorded.
With the Wrench Icon unchecked, you will be ignored on each Page Hit so Variants of the Elements in this Group will always Rotate for you.
