Website Optimizer: Defining Elements

Elements are parts of your Web Site that you want to test for the optimal Variant of that Element for conversion to a Goal.

The Element is a chunk of HTML, Text or Javascript that is inserted at the point where an Element placeholder is located.

To define a new Element, click on the link for the Group it will belong to in the list of Groups on the Admin Home Page.

This takes us to the Manage Group Page:

Here we can Edit the current Group settings and also create new Elements for this Group.

The above example shows 4 existing Elements and a new one about to be added. So to create a new element, just give it a name and press the Submit Button.

The Renumber Button is for when we delete Elements and wish to renumber the list of IDs.

To add Variants to the Elements, click on the links in the list to go to the Manage Element Page.
